Gold star EMS and Genesis EMS made their merger official Thursday, becoming the largest emergency service based in south Georgia.

They opened a new larger office in Thomasville, and will employ about 100 people.

"My partner Todd Hockman and myself look up over his company and we just started seeing that it was the perfect match his business had the same flavor as our business, high quality patient care, awesome employees everybody wanted to do everything right,"  said Gold Star EMS Owner Charles Proctor.

The fleet consists of 19 emergency vehicles with offices in Albany, Thomasville, and Bainbridge.
