Kinchafoonee Creek crest levels downgraded

LEE CO., GA (WALB) -

The National Weather Service drastically downgraded its predictedcrest for the Kinchafoonee Creek.

They now expect it to crest overnight at 14.5-feet nearly two anda half feet shy of the initial forecast.

The Kinchafoonee iscurrently slightly above 14-feet. That is consideredminor flood stage.

Emergency managementofficials say they will keep an eye on the Kinchafoonee and Muckalee Creeksover the next day or so.

The MuckaleeCreek did not reach flood stage and it is already receding. You can check the levels of the Kinchafoonee here.
