VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

There's an app for everything these days...and now that includes voter registration in Georgia.

The new app is free and is called Vote GA. It has been available for about a week and allows people to register to vote and get important voting information right from their phones.

Voting officials in Valdosta hope this app will help encourage some of the younger generation to get out and vote.

"Once you get that app downloaded on your phone, you can register to vote," explained Deb Cox, Lowndes County Elections Supervisor. "You can also go to 'my voter page', download your sample ballot, look at that, check on the status of provisional ballot if you vote provisional and just about anything you can do with elections now you can do online that way."

You can download the app from Google Play or the Apple Store.
