ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Zumba lovers are raising money for a police officer battling Crohn's disease.

ICM Fitness Studio held a zumba fundraiser today for Thomasville Police Officer Matthew Griffin. Griffin was diagnosed with the disease in 2002 and has been in and out of the hospital for the last four years. All the proceeds help with medical expenses.

"He's exhausted all of his sick leave and funds and has had family and friends to donate to him," said Toni Barnes.

"Words can't even express how thankful we are. Our community has rallied around us in ways that I just never even thought were possible," said Shawna Griffin.

Another fundraiser will be held in Thomasville on May 3rd at the Old Central High School Gym. Donations are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
