Moultrie Police arelooking for a con artist who stole big money from a nail salon.

A person pretending towork for the city utilities department scammed Christian Nail Salon out of $1500. The owner gave outcredit card information over the phone to a scammer who said the businessneeded to pay a utility bill immediately to avoid losing service. Police stress youshould never give out that information over the phone unless you initiated thecall.

"If somebody starts requesting payment over the telephone andthey contacted you, immediately hang up the phone. Call whatever company thatthey're trying to represent and find out what's going on," said Det. DavidJones.

Another nail salon wastargeted just a few days earlier but did not give out a credit card number.
