ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
We're expecting soaking rains over the next three days, but Albany Public Works officials do not expect serious flash flooding.
Forecasters say Albany could receive two to four inches of rain through Monday.
Public works officials say that could cause standing water in some roads, but they spent the day preparing.
"We're checking our ponds," said Jeff Hughes Albany Public Works Sewer Superintendent. "Most of the levels are down. We've gone around checking our grates and stuff that could cause us problems. Just making sure they are clear. We have pumps and back up equipment such as generators and pumps in case we need them."
There is a chance of severe weather Sunday and Monday, and Public Works will have crews staged if needed.
