The Liberty County School System is sponsoring a first-ever event that works to introduce students to local employment and post secondary opportunities.
Diploma to Work will be held at 9 a.m. April 11 at the Liberty College & Career Academy at 245 Dorsey Road in Hinesville. Students will meet with representatives from public safety, military, higher education and Department of Labor. Students will take park in six 30-minute sessions during the program. They will learn of career opportunities, work ethics, interviewing techniques and college enrollment procedures.
"The goal of the day is to expose Liberty County's graduating seniors, who are currently undecided on a career path, to employment opportunities and post secondary options in the Liberty County area," said Superintendent Dr. Valya S. Lee, in a statement. "The Liberty County School System wants students to know that there are career opportunities here at home and we want employers to know that we have qualified workers at home as well."
The Liberty County School System will be making Diploma to Work an annual event.
