COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Columbus Police are on the lookout for a bold thief who they say stole a Bobcat tractor worth $45,000 from a local pool company on March 12.

Police say the crime was a bold move. The suspect stole a Bobcat tractor from Aquarius Pools on Whittlesey Blvd. in broad daylight.

One officer says, "This guy was very brave and didn't care about anyone seeing him. It was during business hours and he had a hard time backing up with that trailer and pulling the trailer off. He backed up to it approximately five times."

The suspect is described as a blonde male with a ponytail. He's about 6'0" with a thin build, and at the time of the crime, he was wearing a dark colored baseball cap.

According to police, the tractor was pulled away by a burgundy colored GMC truck.

"The truck is probably a 2000 model with either an extended cab or a four door burgundy bed liner. It has chrome mirrors on it, chrome front and rear bumpers, and it backed up and circled around the building a few times and then came back.  Then, he turned around and left with it," says the Officer.

The front loader Bob Cat Tractor is orange, white and black and has a Stone Tramp on the front.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to call Columbus Crimestoppers at (706)653-3188, or send a tip by logging onto isolvecrime.com.
