The bakery and produce sections are just a couple of the areas that were expanded during the renovations
VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -
The Sam's Club in Valdosta now has an additional 30,000 square feet of space.
The store held a grand reopening ceremony Thursday morning to officially mark the completion of nearly a year's worth of renovations to the store.
The expansion is expected to help boost the economy in Valdosta by attracting more customers. The expansion also allowed the store to hire several new employees.
"We started renovation nine months ago," said Club Manager Amy Matlaga. "We added a hearing center with a licensed audiologist. We also expanded our fresh areas; meat, bakery, produce, and freezer and cooler. We also added clothing."
During the ceremony Thursday morning, Sam's Club also presented checks to several local organizations in Valdosta who have supported the store over the years.
