The Turner County Volunteer Fire Department will get more space for equipment.
A new 3,200 square foot fire warehouse will be built where the old EMS office once stood.
It will hold three trucks and still haveplenty of room for other fire equipment.
Right now, the department stores equipment at three different locations.
"It's going to allow my captains on my volunteer fire department," said EMS Director and Fire Chief Robby Royal. "They'll have a key to access the lock room, where we'll have expensive equipment stored. It's not just sitting here and stored there and locked up in al the other places. It'll bring it all to that one location where we can have easy quick access if we need it in an emergency."
Turner County Commissioners approved the building last night. Construction will start this month.
