ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Because of the high demand for free income tax help,  the SOWEGA Council on Aging is adding an additional day of service.

The Council and the I-R-S have teamed up for the senior volunteer income tax service program for more than 25 years, but they say they have never seen demand this high.

With the income tax deadline two weeks away, organizers say all their appointments were booked, and they're still getting dozens of calls daily asking for help.

Volunteer tax preparer Larry Sellers said "As times get worse, we get more and more people. As the economy, people have money problems, they start looking for services that don't cost them."

Because of the need, they added an additional day, April 9th, to serve more people.

Call 432-1131 for an appointment.
