Kingston makes a campaign stop in Albany

A U.S. Senate candidate tells south Georgia voters balancing the federal budget is one of his top priorities.

During a campaign stop in Albany Congressman Jack Kingston said he's the only candidate in a crowded Republican field in the Senate race who has a strong record of cutting the federal budget.

He says he also believes in a strong national defense and helping small businesses grow.

"I've been here many times, I've worked closely with South Georgia on military and agriculture issues. I know business down here. And I believe in terms of this senate race, I am the right and the only candidate for South Georgia," said Kingston.

Kingston is one of seven Republicans hoping to replace retiring Senator Saxby Chambliss. The primary will be May 20th.
