Marine Base conducts two-day weather drill

On Tuesday, April 1, and Wednesday, April 2, MCLB will conduct a full-scale destructive weather exercise that is scheduled to last for the entire day Tuesday, and most of the day Wednesday.

The purpose of this event is to assess the ability of base and tenant personnel, first responders and others in dealing with a tornado strike.

During the two-day exercise period, the mass notification and ATHOC warning systems will sound throughout the base providing information regarding weather conditions as well as passing time sensitive information related to the exercise.

All notifications will begin and end with the words "EXERCISE, EXERCISE, EXERCISE."

During the exercise period, base personnel should expect to hear and see emergency vehicles moving throughout the base.
