DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA -

A Dougherty County woman managed to save her garage sale items from blowing away when last night's winds hit.

Peggy Hamlin had all her items and signs out when yesterday's winds hit and luckily moved it inside before anything was blown away at her home on Hollis Drive.  Power was also knocked out to her home. She's holding the garage sale to raise money for repairs to her scooter so she can continue doing her charity work.

"This is my livelihood, I can't get out and do things that I like to do without having some mobility, but the storm that came through last night I mean the winds were howling they were so bad," said Peggy Hamlin.

Hamlin needs new tires and batteries for her scooter, which cost about $600. She plans to hold the garage sale tomorrow as well at 300 Hollis Drive. You can donate to Hamlin's scooter repair fund by calling her at 229-395-4700.
