Shooting frightens family

Albany gang unit officers are investigating another possible gang shooting in south Albany.

Cynthia Perkins says her granddaughter was on the front porch of their home on South Washington Street about 11:00 Thursday night, when a man fired shots from across the street.

Her SUV was hit, but no one was injured.   Investigators say a gang fight led to a shooting at a club Sunday night,  and since then there have been about a half dozen shootings in retaliation.

Perkins is asking the gangs to stop. "It could have hit one of my grandkids or it could have hit me," she said.  "Or anybody that was around.  Just the violence needs to stop. Really it do."

Albany Police gang unit officers say they are patrolling around the clock to try to prevent more shootings.

Two people have been wounded, but their injuries were minor.
