MITCHELL CO., GA (WALB) -

Funeral arrangements are being finalized for a Thomasville man who was killed during a work related accident Thursday.

Mitchell County investigators say 31 year-old Joshua Fulghum accidentally slipped into an auger while sweeping seeds inside a silo at the Southwest Georgia Ethanol Plant around 1 p.m. just outside Pelham.

The Mitchell County EMS and Mitchell County Sheriff's Office were called to the scene shortly before the state health department was contacted.

The Georgia Bureau of investigations medical examiner conducted an autopsy Friday, and hopes to have the results within the next 90 days.

"What the investigators have determined is that it is an accident- no foul play," said Mitchell County Coroner Stedderick Thomas. "But just to be on the safe side, we want to get the actual report from the medical examiner."

Thomas said the man's body was recovered from the silo a little before 4pm Thursday. He said Fulghum was a husband and a father.

Funeral arrangements are being prepared at the Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in Camilla.
