Officials in Mitchell County are investigating a second death in a week that happened when a man fell into an auger inside a silo.
It happened on Wednesday. The Coroner said 61 year old Jackie McCook was working alone in a silo at Snipes Farms sweeping excess grain into an auger when he suddenly fell in.
According to a report, the farm owner's daughter discovered the body and called 911
Authorities said McCook has a heart condition, and may have had a heart attack, but should not have been working in the silo alone.
Officials are still working to determine exactly what happened.
