Gov. Deal speaks on legalizing medical marijuana

Governor Nathan Deal hopes to bring some relief to families with children who have seizure disorders after a medical marijuana bill failed in the General Assembly.

The bill to legalize cannabis oil to treat certain conditions made a lot of progress but it did not pass after it was coupled with another bill.

"The problem is it is a product that is federally off limits, that makes it difficult even under the best of circumstance, as to where does the product come from? How do you transport it? How do you get it to the families that have need of it?" said Governor Nathan Deal.

Deal says he ordered an in-depth study into possible administrative changes he could make to help families who were counting on the bill.
