ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Officials say a gas line has been shut off after an ambulance has hit it in Albany on a neighborhood road. It happened just before 5 p.m. at 201 Baldwin Drive.

Crews at the scene said a GoldStar Ambulance backed into a gas meter that services the building. Fire officials blocked traffic on the road.

According to the GoldStar EMS Facebook page, the address of the report is the same as the address of the business.

Witnesses at the scene reported a strong smell of sulphur/rotten eggs in the immediate area. Albany Water Gas and Light officials later turned off the gas.
