DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) -

The Coffee County Sheriff was honored by some of his staff.

Sheriff Doyle Wootenwas presented an award for his work allowing his deputies to serve in the NationalGuard. He was given the awarded by one of his deputies that was recently inAfghanistan on deployment.

"As soon as ourplane touched down, he had a deputy waiting on us and escorted us fromBrunswick back to here," said Chris Troupe.

"It's nice to beappreciated. And I want him to know how much we appreciated him for what's hisdone for our country," said Sheriff Wooten

The CoffeeCounty Sheriff's Office has 4 deputies in the National Guard.
