ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A faith-based youth organization is raising money hoping to expand in schools throughout Southwest Georgia.

The Christian outreach ministry YoungLife currently has a chapter for high school students at Deerfield-Windsor. They held a banquet and fundraiser at the Fish Camp on Gillionville Road.

"Because we really want to grow into more schools. We want to be in Westover High School, Lee County, Albany High, every school in Albany. So to do that we need to raise money, raise awareness, educate folks and recruit folks to be apart of it," said Bryan Elder.

They hope to raise $45,0000. The Albany chapter was founded in 1992. You can learn more about YoungLife by clicking here.
