VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Walmart is helping collect much needed blood donations.

Today, the Valdosta Walmart on Inner Perimeter hosted a "share your power" blood drive. Representatives from Southeastern Community Blood Center were there with a mobile blood donation center for people to donate blood.

Donors received a free $10 Walmart gift card for donating. One donor says the need for blood is one reason why he decided to donate.

"I'm aware of it. And, at the same time, it's just somethin' to do; to get it in there. Might as well, somebody got to get it," said donor Brad Whitfield.

Walmarts in Bainbridge and Fitzgerald also participated today.

Visit www.oneblood .org to find out if and when a Walmart near you is participating.
