THOMAS COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

It's National Kidney and Colorectal Cancer Awareness month. Archbold Memorial Hospital is offering screenings throughout the month of March.

On Friday the Singletary Oncology Center in Thomasville will offer walk-in colorectal cancer screenings as well as other free screenings from 3pm until 5pm.

Doctor Brian Gaupp explained who is most at risk of developing colon cancer.

"When it comes to colorectal cancer 90% of the patients are over the age of 50, now that doesn't mean that you can't develop it at an earlier age, there are people that have genetic reasons," said Gaupp.
