Spring brings more business for nurseries

Greg Daniell Greg Daniell

After what felt like a long, cold winter, spring is finally here. And nurseries are hoping to see a boost in business.

Folks at ABC Plant Nursery in Albany say they're expecting steady customers this weekend as folks begin their spring planting.

But temperatures are expected to drop into the 30s next week, 20 degrees below the average.

"Most plants will be fine. If it's going to be a frost on some tender vegetation such as maybe your tomatoes or your begonias or things like that, you might just throw something over them to keep the frost off of them," said Greg Daniell, the owner of ABC Plant Nursery.

Daniell says business this spring could be better than usual because a lot of people have had their plants damaged by the cold weather this winter.
