VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Your right to smoke on University System of Georgia campuses just went up in smoke.

The Board of Regents voted to ban all tobacco use on all University System property.

Of course, that includes Valdosta State University.
One VSU student said he wouldn't mind giving smokers a designated area on campus, but he also isn't opposed to the smoking ban.

"I think the idea of a smoke free campus would be good. Maybe if smokers had one area where they could go, it would be beneficial to everyone. But, I like the idea of a smoke free campus," said grad student Niel Harrow.

Enforcement will be up to individual campuses, but students and employees caught violating the policy could be disciplined and visitors could be asked to leave.
