Myon Hotel will live again, soon

Renovations to a historic building in Tifton are on schedule.

The old Myon Hotel in downtown Tifton houses City Hall, but offices had to move, because part of the building was unstable.

A million dollar renovation project to the 108-year old building started in September.

"If you talk to any of the merchants and store owners downtown, they're like y'all hurry up and get back down here. We need the foot traffic. It just a really nice old historic building. It houses the art collection for the city," said Tifton City Manager Larry Riner.

The project should be finished and the offices moved back in by October.
