(Toledo News Now) -

The Ohio Department of Transportation is in the planning and funding stages for a major renovation on Interstate 475.

More lanes could be added along the stretch of I-475/US-23 from the Maumee River up to the split just after Central Avenue.

The project is expected to cost about $34 million, with the state and local partners each covering half the amount.

These improvements have been in the air for more than 10 years. Leaders say if it happens, it will make your commute easier.

Hear more about the plans in Steven Jackson's reports tonight on WTOL 11 News at 5 and 6.
