GIBSONBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The village of Gibsonburg in Sandusky County is under a boil advisory after a major water main break Wednesday.

Officials say the main valve at the bottom of the water tower failed around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, causing the valve and pipe to separate. With all of the water pressure built up, it began to leak heavily.

Crews have finished repairs and residents should have full water pressure by Wednesday evening, but the boil alert will remain in effect for at least two days.

Gibsonburg Schools dismissed students at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Students are expected to return back to class Thursday.
