Young girls get early start to career paths

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An area organization is helping young girls in the community set career goals.

The Daughters of Zion held a career fair at their church location on Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Area dentists, doctors, and lawyers talked with young people about the path to their profession. Organizers say it's important for young people to start thinking about their future early.

"So this way they get to see a variety of careers, so if they don't know what they want to be they can choose. If they think that this is something that they want to do they can really talk to someone who is in that profession that can either tell them this might be the track that you want to do or they can decide maybe that's not really what I want to do," said Kerrie Davis.

This is the second year for the fair.  You can learn more about the "Daughters of Zion" by clicking here.
