VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Wild Adventures Theme Park is now open for its 2014 season.

Opening festivities kicked off at 10 a.m. Saturday morning and it didn't take long for the park to fill up with people eager to ride the roller coasters, and see the animals.

Laurie Windham, Director of Public Relations at Wild Adventures, said she's excited to open the park because it's such a big part of the Valdosta-Lowndes County economy.

"Not only is Wild Adventures a really fun place to go for the family, but on average we put about $6 million back into the local economy. With our employees, with our labor costs, we have several hundred employees when we're fully staffed for the full season. So, it's an important part of that economic engine," says Public Relations Director Laurie Windham.
