WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A potent and complex system will bring high rain chances over the next few days.
SATURDAY NIGHT: Clouds increase with lows near 50.
SUNDAY: The morning will be mostly cloudy with a shot at a few scattered showers. During the afternoon a potent storm will be widespread and at times heavy rain. The best chance for heavy and widespread rain will be Sunday night. A rumble of thunder may even be possible. Most locations should see 1"-2" of rain through Monday. Highs Sunday will be near 60 and lows Sunday night will be in the mid 40's.
MONDAY: Colder air bleeds into the area behind a front and high pressure building over eastern Canada. Several areas of low pressure will continue to affect the area keeping shower chances around. Temperatures will struggle to reach 50 and it will feel colder with a stiff north and northeast breeze gusting over 20 mph. Right now we think all precipitation will remain in the form of rain although a wintry mix maybe possible in central NC. Scattered showers remain possible Monday night with lows in the upper 30's.
TUESDAY: Scattered showers are still possible early in the day. Partial clearing is likely later in the day as low pressure slowly pulls away from the Carolina coast. Highs will be in the mid 50's and lows Tuesday night will be in the mid 40's.
WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY: Finally quieter weather returns. Each day will be mostly to partly sunny with seasonable highs in the mid 60's. Overnight lows will be in the mid 40's to near 50.
