DAWSON, GA (WALB) -

Thanks to the Atlanta Falcons, the Boys and Girls club in Terrell County can now provide a more fun experience for children after school.

Friday afternoon, the kids at the club opened boxes full of new sports and wellness equipment donated by the Falcons to encourage young people to get active.

They now have brand new items such baseball gloves, hula hoops and jump ropes, and they put them right to use.

Program Director Dorothy Tomlin said, "Just keep the kids engaged and fitness is very important now, so this donation has really really helped our program to grow."

The club applied for a grant from the Falcons, and they expect to get more equipment from the team later.
