CAMILLA, GA (WALB) -

A Camilla man is behind bars accused of kidnapping his estranged wife.

45 year-old Henry Lee Richardson is charged with kidnapping, family violence, false imprisonment, aggravated assault, simple assault and theft by taking motor vehicle.

Police said Richardson approached her in the Mitchell County DFCS parking lot, told her he had a gun and forced her into her car, then drove to the Mitchell County boat landing.

She texted a family member who then alerted authorities. Officials say the two had been separated for a week.

Fortunately she was not injured.
