WORTH CO., GA (WALB) -

Phoebe Worth Medical center's Kevin Lassiter is the E-M-S Director of the year for Southwest Georgia.

His coworkers nominated him for this award, but because of his modesty he was reluctant to go to the award's dinner last week.

It's a good thing he got an extra nudge to go.

"My drive for my services to succeed and I think I have a lot of compassion for my employees and patients I love where I'm at. Oh I'm very honored, there is nothing higher that I can get, you know, as my employees, thinking that I am the best director there is," said Kevin Lassiter Phoebe Worth Medical Center EMS Director.

Lassiter has been the EMS director for four years.
