ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Dougherty County School System police officer Warren Favors has been fired by the School Board.

Favors was dismissed Monday night after school officials say he broke the arm of a student at the Alternative School on Highland Avenue last week.

School officials said it happened during an altercation in a hallway last Friday. The student's arm was broken in two places, and the officer never returned to work after the incident.

Superintendent David Mosely said the student had made some comments to the officer, and the officer did not act in the appropriate manner of an adult, letting his emotions get the best of him.
