VPD wants Kenneth Horton

Aaron Kirk Aaron Kirk
VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

The Valdosta Police Department says that Kenneth Lee Horton, 31, is responsible for shooting a firearm last week on Ponderosa Drive.

VPD Detectives have obtained arrest warrants on Horton (AKA  James Morton), who is a Valdosta resident, who was identified as the offender in a shooting incident on March 6, 2014.

VPD says he fired a handgun in his direction multiple times as a result of an argument.  The victim was not hit by the gunfire and there were no reported injuries.

"The victim reported that someone had fired several shots at him. No one was injured," said Valdosta Police Department Lieutenant Aaron Kirk. "Kenneth Lee Horton was identified as the offender in the case and we have taken out arrest warrants for him and we're just asking for the public's assistance in locating him."

Kirk added that a verbal altercation between the two men appears to be the motive. He said the two men knew each other and had argued in the past.

Horton is currently wanted for two counts of Aggravated Assault and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.

If anyone knows his whereabouts or sees him, they are asked to call 911.

Anyone having any further information regarding this crime or any other crime is urged to contact the Valdosta Police Department at 229-293-3145 or can remain anonymous at 229-293-3091.
