Bainbridge hospital to cut 22 jobs

Bainbridge Memorial Hospital and Manor has announced they will cut 22 jobs.

In a release, the hospital said the cuts were part of an ongoing effort to focus on ways to be more effective and efficient in their delivery of health care.

But they did not respond to requests for an interview.

"I heard about it from a friend that was telling me about the cuts at the hospital and it was very disturbing to me," said Bainbridge resident Cynthia Green.

She has lived and worked in Bainbridge her entire life and says she is disappointed that employees at the hospital and manor are losing their jobs.

"I understand their reason for making the hospital more efficient, but it does impact a lot of people that are now going to be without a job and have to go out and look for another job," said Green.

The news release also said the hospital felt the decision was necessary to continue their mission of providing quality, effective, and efficient healthcare to those in need.

"I trust their judgement, I just hate that it's going to impact so many people in our community," said Green, "because I know some of those people and that it's going to impact them negatively."
