President Obama's latest budget outline doesn't include money to deepen Savannah's harbor.
Even Vice President Joe Biden vowed that the harbor project would be done, quote: "Come hell or high water."
And now the feds say the state can't even spend its own money to get the project started.
While we don't live near Savannah, the project impacts us all.
The Multi-modal transport facility at Cordele is designed to handle freight that comes from the Savannah port.
If larger ships can't unload their cargo there, it will hurt the entire state's economy.
It's time for the Obama administration to do the right thing, and help the port of Savannah in every way, not get in the way of Georgia's necessary improvement.
