FBI releases Alapaha bank robbery surveillance photos

Bank Surveillance photos are now being provided of two armed and dangerous bank robbers in the March 7th robbery of the Bank of Alapaha in Alapaha, GA.

The robbery happened at the Bank of Alapaha on Railroad Street Friday morning. The GBI Bomb Disposal Unit initially sent a robot into the bank to further investigate a package that the suspects claimed was a bomb.

Officials later determined that the package in question was not a bomb, but said Tuesday one individual also brandished a long weapon, possibly a shotgun.

According to a report, the robbery happened around 10 a.m. when two black males entered the bank wearing black tactical uniforms and showing handguns. Two bank employees were forced from their offices and made to lie face down on the floor.

The two suspects got away with an unknown amount of money.

Investigators also said a person of interest named Tuesday has been cleared of any connection to the case.

Officials said a white four door sedan was the pair's getaway car. The vehicle was found approximately 3 miles away engulfed in flames on St. Luke Church Road Friday. They believe two other vehicles, one described as an older model green Ford Explorer and the other a burgundy Cadillac Escalade, were used to escape the area after torching the original getaway vehicle.

Anyone with information is urged to call police.
