From Albany to Albany: ASU Arts & Humanities Dean leaves for NY

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Dr. Leroy Bynum Jr., Dean of Albany State University's College of Arts and Humanities will soon take on a similar role at Saint Rose Arts and Humanities School.

Bynum will assume the role of the Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities on July 14, 2014.

According to a release, Bynum has directed six academic departments offering 12 baccalaureate and four master's degree programs at Albany State.

He earned his doctoral degree in music/vocal performance at the University of Georgia and a master's degree in music/vocal performance at the University of South Florida.

Bynum joined the Albany State faculty in 1992 as assistant professor of music and earned promotions to associate professor in 1996 and professor in 2003.

    Five new family medicine doctors will soon enter the workforce after spending three years of their residency here in Albany. Doctors Danielle Andrews, Sarah Codrea, Justin Lancaster, John Macon and Jennifer Yam graduated the Phoebe Family Medicine Residency program Saturday night at the Doublegate Country Club.
