ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

RV enthusiasts from across the nation are in Albany this week for a pre-rally event. Members say they are excited and look forward to exploring Southwest Georgia. The pre-rally allows them to reunite with other members they haven't seen for months.

Rally masters, George and Maxine Schremp have been members of the chapter since 1983 and say their motor coach is their home away from home. They have been traveling state to state for several different rallies and this week they will be staying in Albany at the Exchange Club Fairgrounds. Over 250 RV's are parked, carrying a total of nearly 500 visitors.

"So, we meet friends that we haven't seen in 3,4,5 months so its a gathering, it's a big fun thing," Georgia Schremp said.

"They've been real nice people, they're from all over the country, its been a pleasure working with these people," Exchange Club Fairgrounds President, Larry Griffin said.

Volunteers at club have spent the last handful of months working hard to make sure their fairgrounds were prepared with hook-ups and space to cater to their visitors. Guests will have the chance to learn more about their RV's by participating in a variety of seminars pertaining to the maintenance and care of their motor coach along with entertainment such as cooking and crafts.

Organizers say this great event especially from an economic standpoint, putting Albany on the map. The pre rally will last most of the week and wrap up on Friday.
