Baconton Junior high student gets surprise visit from sister

MITCHELL CO., GA (WALB) -

A junior high student at Baconton Community Charter School got a big surprise during her ring ceremony Saturday night.

Samantha Phillips hasn't seen her sister Jaimie for almost two years, but Jaimie showed up for her ring ceremony tonight as a surprise.

Jamie is a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, and flew in from Japan for the big event. She says it's a blessing to be in South Georgia and see her sister again.

"She's my puzzle piece. We did everything together. We'd go everywhere together and see everything together and now that I've been gone it's been really hard," says her sister Jaimie Phillips.

Jaime says she has one more year left to serve in Japan.
