Technical Colleges in Georgia add more than a billion dollars to the state's economy each year.

A new study shows Albany Technical College's impact is $47 million. Their spending creates more than 500 college related jobs.

"We start with the end in mind. It's very important in a workforce development college to think about what the student is going to be doing at graduation as soon as they enroll or even before they enroll," said Parker.

The economic impact for all 24 schools in the Technical College System of Georgia totaled $1.2 billion during fiscal year 2012 covered by this new study.
