MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

An ongoing problem of newspaper thefts continues in Moultrie.

You're on the honor system when you pay for one newspaper and open one of these boxes.

A lot of people are taking multiple papers. Contractors who put the papers in the boxes just want people to do the right thing.

"Pay for the paper, it's the nice thing to do and honorable thing to do. Secondly, they are stealing them for the coupons usually, when you can get $300 worth of coupons for 75 cents, why not double your money and pay $1.50 and get $600," said Michaelyn Blackwell, Independent Contractor Moultrie Observer.

Moultrie Police are aware of the thefts.

They say they have charged three people with theft by taking and continue to investigate.
