A National Park Service study shows the Jimmy Carter Historic site draws tens of thousands of visitors to Southwest Georgia each year.

The report found 69,000 guests spent more than $3.7 Million in communities surrounding the park in 2012. The active superintendent says the park supports 56 jobs. He said the former president's exhibits are inspirational to guests.

"Anybody can shape the world," said Steve Theus, Active Superintendent. "If they look at what President Carter has done, come from this small town, this small community in southwest Georgia, and shaped the world.  We encourage our visitors to do the same."

Theus said the park has about the same number of visitors every year. He said the site will be host baseball tournaments throughout the year, and plenty of other events.
