Albany Street Art Experience happens downtown

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Looking to bolster its status as the arts hub of Southwest Georgia, the minds behind some of Albany's most notable events have created the Albany Street Art Experience.

The program offers its first clinic at the Art Park on Pine, Saturday, March 8 at 10:00 a.m.

Sponsored by the Albany Downtown Manager's Office, the D'town Arts Coalition, the Art Park on Pine and the Albany Convention and Visitor's Bureau, the event aims to teach the public about street art and its history, before teaching painting techniques that will help them paint a unique mural within the Art Park.

Space is limited to the first 30 people, and tickets must be purchased in advance by calling the Albany Welcome Center at 229-317-4760 or visiting in person to buy the $5 per-person tickets.

For more information, call the Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau at 317-4760.
