VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

The Valdosta Symphony Orchestra is collecting non-perishable food items to donate to the Second Harvest Food Bank in Valdosta.

The drive began on March 3rd and the donation boxes will be out until March 10th. Donation boxes are located in the lobby of the Turner Center at 527 N. Patterson Street, in the lobby of the Fine Arts Building at the corner of Brookwood and Oak Street, and in the VSU Student Union.

"Valdosta Symphony Orchestra is collecting food on behalf of Second Harvest," said Dr. Howard HSU, Valdosta Symphony Orchestra Music Director.

"They're collecting things that are canned goods, things that are shelf stable, and it's part of the League of American Orchestras Feeding America," continued Hsu.

The League of American Orchestras Feeding America was created about five years ago.
