CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

The Crisp County Sheriff's Office is teaming up with Crisp Co. High to reward a lucky student with a free car.

The 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse was seized by the sheriff's office, and any senior who maintains good grades, attendance, and has no major disciplinary referrals is eligible to win it.

Sheriff Donnie Haralson came up with the idea and students are excited at the chance to when a new set of wheels.

"He likes to make sure that students have initiatives and goals. He's made it easy to obtain as long as you meet certain criteria," said Crisp County Sheriff's Col. Billy Hancock.

"It's really drove (sic) the students to excel in testing, homework and especially their attendance," said Student Ashton Black.

Eligible seniors must write an essay explaining why they deserve the car and the winners name will be drawn at random.

It will be awarded at Senior Honor's Day in May.
