Albany Police say that Jazarus
Fuller, 17, was texting on his
cellphone as he was walking across
Sylvester Road, when he was struck by a truck driven by Randall
Bentley, 55, from Sumner.
Bentley was traveling
East on Sylvester Road in a 1997 Ford F-350 in the outside lane when Fuller began running trying to
get across the roadway to beat the oncoming traffic.
APD says Fuller was taken to Phoebe
Putney Memorial Hospital for his injuries. The incident remains under
investigation. No charges filed at this time.
