Evans holds Anti-Bullying Awareness Summit

EVANS, GA (WFXG) -

An Anti-Bullying Awareness Summit was held this afternoon in Evans Town Center Park.

The summit focused on taking a stand against bullying and also taught people how to no longer be bystanders if they see bullying taking place.

The event featured guest speakers and performances from local musicians and dancers.

The Kingdom Learning Academy helped put on the event, and teacher Tiffany Hollomon says she hopes the community takes a stand against bullying and the violence it can cause.

"The key is to get the community and our students aware. But not just aware but to act on it. And so from this, maybe when they go back to school and they see a fellow classmate getting bullied they're going to stand up against it," she says.

To sign up for the upcoming Stop Bullying Kickball event call 706-755-8295.
